DISEASES IN EL SALVADOR El Salvador most commonly seen diseases:
SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES: HIV / AIDS Gonorrhea Chlamydia *Cause: Intercourse, abuse, prostitution*
WATER/ FOOD CONTACT: Hepatitis A and B Typhoid fever Bacterial diarrhea Cholera *Causes: Water or of food pollution due to lack of hygene and/or contact with infected animals such as mosquitoes and flies.* RESPIRATORY: Tuberculosis Bronchitis Pneumonia
*Causes: Release of gases by buses, cars, factories and smoking.* ANIMAL CONTACT: Anthrax Rabies Dengue fever Malaria *Causes: bites and contact.*
These are the most commonly seen diseases in El Salvador, due to different reasons as mentioned above.
TREATMENTS FOR THESE ILLNESSES SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED: Gonorrhea >> you need to get a medication prescribed directly from the doctor, to get a special antibiotic. HIV/ AIDS>> this disease can’t be cured. Chlamydia >> the doctor will prescribe antibiotics and 95% of the people get cured with antibiotics such as: doxycycline and azithromycin WATER / FOOD CONTACT Hepatitis A and B Typhoid fever Leptospirosis Bacterial diarrhea Cholera For all of these diseases antibiotics are used, because they are all due to bacteria that get into our bodies by contact or ingestion of water or food. RESPIRATORY: Tuberculosis Bronchitis Pneumonia For these diseases a hospitalization may be required because the person may need oxygen and special treatment because if you can’t get enough oxygen in your bodies you may be at risk.
ANIMAL CONTACT: Rabies Dengue fever Malaria These diseases as well can be treated with antibiotics, though in some cases they can get pretty serious. For the dengue fever you need to use special medication and in some cases hospitalization and with malaria you have to treat it fast because it can even get to be mortal.
Environmental issues
In El Salvador there are many environmental issues. First of all, the polluting of water. Beaches, lakes, rivers they are all being polluted by the people. Why?Because people don’t take care about water. Rubbish of all sorts including bags of chips and bottles and other non biodegradable material that end with the life of living organisms and habitats in beaches, lakes, rivers, etc. This has a bad outcome for us, because species used for food are being killed by intoxication. This problem can be due as well , because poor people can’t afford for water on their home to wash clothes or shower, so they clean their cloth and bathe themselves on the rivers and lakes. All the dirt the clothes and them have goes to the lake. That is why our rivers here in El Salvador aren't pure and are all dirty. This is also affecting tourism here in el Salvador. Also the non-biodegradable materials that everyone throws around, is affecting the earth. Because of this, now a day’s50% of El Salvador is not suitable for food cultivation. Another cause of the land's failure for agriculture isdeforestationin the country.El Salvador has lost over 20 % of its forest since 1990.This is due to the quick growth of population and the technological advance the country is having, in which they need to build in order to sustain and produce all of the new products.
Into the main problems that stop environmental advancearenatural disasterslikestorms and earthquakes. This is the history of some of the natural disasters in El Salvador:
·
-Great Hurricane of 1780 that killed 22,000 in Central America · -----earthquakes in 1854 and 1917, both of these almost ended with the city and development of El Salvador. · -------October 1986 earthquake killed 1,400 and damaged the country's buildings, houses, monuments, etc. · /.-----1998, Hurricane Mitch killed 10,000 · -----earthquakes in January and February of 2001 took another 1,000 lives and left thousands more homeless and jobless · -------Volcano Ilamatepec, erupted in October 2005, releasing sulfuric gas, ash, and rock on surrounding communities and coffee plantations. · -----October 2005, Hurricane Stan caused flooding and damages in El Salvdor. The repairs were worth $355.6 million Other enviromental Issue is the disposal of garbage. The Ministry of the Environment has declared that landfills must be used and all of the garbage must go there, but in come places people have been affected by the smell and all of the insects such as flies and mosquitoes these landfills cause, the attraction of insects is also dangerous because that means that there are more people affected by diseases these animals may cause such as dengue fever, malaria, diarrhea.
Last but not least, another problem that outstands in El Salvador's environment, is air pollution. Buses and factories are contamining the air by the release of gases such as Carbon Dioxide and other gases that are fatal for humans, trees and animals due to the fact that those gases stay in the air and we all breathe it and that may be the cause respiratory problems. The solution that the ministry has given is: 1.Do technical revision to buses and cars every once in a while to make sure that not much toxic gases are being released. 2.Making factory constructions and production compulsary out of the city 3.Making sure that factories don't release so much gas, and if they do, they close the operation of the factory. Energy Resource usage
El Salvador currently obtains its energy from a majority of non renewable sources and the time has come to start thinking on alternative resource usage.
According to statistics from the Ministry of the environment and natural resources El Salvador obtains most of its energy from fossil fuels. Fossil fuels as energy resources are becoming scarce each day that goes by, but the use of alternative resources needs technology and investment.
Energy Resource usage is divided as follows:
Fuel
Electrical energy made through fuel is known as a thermal resource
Fuel makes up 40% (2082 GWh) of the national usage of energy resources.
Geothermic
Geothermic energy is energy produced from the heat of the earth. This resource makes up 20% (1062.9GWh). Hydroelectric
Hydroelectric energy, which is energy produced from the physical movement of water currents make up 38% (1957 GWh). Some hydroelectric plants are Guajoyo, 15 de Septiembre and Cerron Grande.
Biomass
Currently El Salvador is the only country to operate a Biomass plant, it is called BioMax 50. This source makes up 2% (92 GWh).
How is electrical energy usage divided in the country
Alternatives and Solutions
• Energy from methane.
This is a resource that comes from rubbish and garbage underground. Such gas can be technologically taken advantage of to form electrical energy.
• Solar Power Solar panels which receive radiation from the sun and turn it into electrical enegy. Solar panels can also be used to heat water instead of using the conventional electrical heater.

Salary
El Salvador is a beautiful country but at the same time poor, it salaries a very little, the country earns a lot, but the people don’t get that much of it, they get like 0.1 % of what the country earns in a year. In El Salvador most people don’t have the opportunities to invest because of the low salary. The country earns about $ 30 billion to $50 Billion dollars Year but what 40% of it goes to dumb stuff, stuff that don’t help the country at all, 20% of that goes to the corrupt politics, and the other 40% would MAYBE got to the country. I think that if all the people in the country had more opportunities to be educated and that the country had more job opportunities, our country would be more developed and educated, and El Salvador would be a better place. El Salvador has a lot of resources but the politics or the companies don't promotion them but if they did this country would be a more developed country with more modern cities and towns
